New Pathways to A Better Life

On June 16, 2017, Metro RVA Teens was created by CJ Walker, who was fed up with the violence involving youth. She saw a need that there were a lack of activities and programs for teens and wanted to provide a resource to help them find activities and programs that fit their interests and needs.
Metro RVA Teens highlight events, jobs, programs and services for ages 12-19. We also highlight programs and services for parents of teens.
We share resources for teens from the following areas:
- Chesterfield County
- Goochland County
- Hanover County
- Henrico County
- Richmond City
- Tri-Cities (Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg & Prince George County)
We will cover additional areas as the need increases in those areas.
Meet the Creator
CJ Walker was born in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from Richmond Public Schools and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

She's worked with youth since the age of 14, starting as a volunteer for a local church summer program. She was also a mentor and a volunteer for Richmond Public Schools. At the age of 22, she worked at the Genesis House Community Center as a program director. CJ developed several after school and summer programs for the community center and her local church. In addition, she was a program director of a local behavioral health program.
In 2005, she became a Recreation Center Instructor for the City of Richmond's Before and After School Program and was promoted to Recreation Center Supervisor shortly after.
In 2009, CJ started her own administrative and consulting business, Walker Business Services. For 8 years, she helped numerous people with resumes, grant and business plans and starting their own businesses efficiently.
CJ is married to her high school sweetheart, Charles, and a mom of three young children.
